Twist (Dive Bar #2) by Kylie Scott - 5 Stars

Twist, Kylie Scott And the Kylie Scott obsession continues... I knew I was going to like this, there was no doubt in my mind. After all... I love everything Kylie Scott writes. But this... this was even better than expected. This book had all the things necessary for an epic romance novel. The Blurb: When his younger brother loses interest in online dating, hot, bearded, bartender extraordinaire, Joe Collins, only intends to log into his account and shut it down. Until he reads about her. Alex Parks is funny, friendly, and pretty much everything he's been looking for in a woman. And in no time at all they're emailing up a storm, telling each other their deepest darkest secrets... apart from the one that really matters. And when it comes to love, serving it straight up works better than with a twist. As per usual with Kylie Scott it had plenty of funny light hearted moments as well as a heart melting worthy romance! There is very little chance (none in my persona

The Bad Luck Bride by Janna MacGregor - 4 Stars

Can you tell I am in a bit of a romance kick this last month or so? 🤣 Don't worry sunnies, my pile of Young Adult Fantasy is still a lot larger than my romance pile, I will get back to it soon.  In the meantime... Enjoy this beauty! This was a sweet read. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone that likes a good historical romance. Just don't confuse sweet with funny and light hearted, this is not it. It is heavy and even a tad somber. The romance is super sweet though!!! The story is both complicated and simple. Alex wants revenge for his sister's suicide. Claire just happens to be on the wrong place, or rather with the wrong person at the time.  Alex was an interesting character. Although he is portrayed as a good man he is also portrayed as a lying, scheming, manipulative a** h***. And he truly has both those sides to him. Grief over the lost of his sister made him both. Falling for his enemies fiance and than marrying her wasn't or

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones - 2.5 Stars

I have finally read Wintersong. I know, I know... it took me forever. I figured that with Shadowsong out it was about time to get on with it. I am conflicted though... I wanted to love this book so much... but I couldn't. The plot is clever, but it didn't always deliver. So I am going with the 'middle of the road' score: 2.5. Neither good or bad... a book that exists to help one pass time. The Blurb: All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns. But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a

Guest author Q&A with Juliette Cross

Hello Sunnies 😎 When was the last time a friend gave you a book recommendation that you know you will be grateful for the rest of your life? For me it was about two weeks ago. As you all know by now I love supernatural romance. So meet Juliette Cross, a fabulous supernatural romance writer that I hope you will all love as much as I now do! The Black Lily, Juliette Cross Hi Juliette! I am so glad to have met you and have found your books. Black Lily was a pleasant surprise and I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. -       When did you start writing? Was it a hobby at first or did you always wanted to be a writer? Thank you so much for having me today. So, I hate to sound cliché, but I always wanted to be a writer. I wrote tons of emo poetry in high school—bad, angsty poetry. Lol. But it led me to writing fiction and majoring/graduating with a degree in Creative Writing from LSU. After many years of teaching and raising kids, I ventured back to writing,

Deep (Stage Dive #4) by Kylie Scott- 5 Stars

Deep- Kylie Scott I am so sad this is the last book, I need MORE!!!! I loved EVERY SINGLE ONE of the Stage Dive guys. All their stories were unique, romantic, passionate, perfect! This series is no shadow of doubt one of the best rock-star series out there. The male characters are amazing but the girls are phenomenal too! Off I go to read the Dive Bar series I guess (I already read Dirty a while back, review  here ) Deep was just as amazing as the other books. I LOVED Ben. Sure, he drove me crazy at times... but that is all part of the fun with these boys right? We have known Liz for sometime now,  she is Anne's little sister. She immediately had a huge crush on Ben and struggles to leave him alone. He tries his best to stay away from her. One, because he doesn't do relationships; and two, because that would destroy his friendship with Mal, who warned him to stay the hell away from his little sister-in-law. Things obviously don't work out quite like Mal woul

The Black Lily (Vampire Blood #1) by Juliette Cross - 4 Stars

Black Lily, Juliette Cross Hello sunnies!  I have discovered a new supernatural romance author to love. I am very excited to share my review of this book and I am looking forward to reading the remainder of the series as well. The blurb: Cinderella like you’ve never seen before… With the threat of the vampire monarchy becoming stronger every day, the Black Lily must take drastic measures. As the leader of the underground resistance, Arabelle concocts the perfect idea to gain the attention of the Glass Tower. Her plan? Attend the vampire prince’s blood ball and kill him. Fortunately for Prince Marius, her assassination goes awry, and Arabelle flees, leaving behind only her dagger. Marius is desperate to find the woman whose kiss turned into attempted murder, hunting for the mysterious assassin he can’t push out of his mind. But what he uncovers could change the course of his life forever… There is certainly no  damsel in distress in this tale! Arabe

Breaking Down by Megan Lowe [arc review]- 3 Stars

Breaking Down, Megan Lowe Hello Sunnies 😎 I haven't been here for a week, I apologize. I am moving in 3 weeks and life is a little crazy... I will try to be better. Pinky swear!  So...Do you guys like sport romances? Breaking Down had me laughing out loud in my leaving room like a crazy person many times. It was a fun read and the romance was sweet; a perfect mixture of comedy and charm. If you are a fan of sports romance I am sure you will like it.  Here is the Blurb: When a hot BMX champion butts head with a woman who could kick his arse, it’s only a matter of time before the gloves are off and the heat is on. What happens when the unexpected flips your world upside down? That’s the question Jax Ryan must answer when everything he knows and loves is tipped on its head. Adjusting to his new reality is not easy. Throw in the woman of his dreams, who won’t even give him the time of day, and Jax is out of his element. Bentley La Roche is tough. She’s a fighter, li

Lead (Stage Dive #3) by Kylie Scott 4.5/5 stars

OmG! I now know why almost everyone that loves this series loves Jimmy! It took a while there, but when Lena and Jimmy finally kissed, all pieces fell into their right place, everything made sense, and you will understand what I mean when you read it (or if you have read it). But I am getting ahead of myself here... it is the excitement and beauty that was Jimmy Ferris, you will have to forgive me! Here is the blurb: As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble. Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost th

Hunter by Eden Summers - 3.8 Stars [arc review]

Hunter, Eden Summers This is the first book I've read by Eden Summers and I enjoyed it. It was a great late night read! Short and sweet 😉 The blurb: The hunter has become the hunted.   I’ve been running for ten years—fleeing my past and clawing my way toward an inescapable act of vengeance. Until he walks into my life, sure and strong and full of secrets. He dilutes my thirst for retribution with his touch. He obliterates my need for solitude with his kiss. But it’s his hidden agenda that makes the hair on the back of my neck prickle. He wants something. Something that doesn’t revolve around sweaty skin and tangled silk sheets like he’d have me believe.  I have to stop falling for him, otherwise the last ten years will all be for nothing. I need to keep running, keep fighting for vengeance, even though I know he will track me down. But trying to escape him is just another problem. Because now I crave the hunt. Things I like: Hunter!

Kissing the Boss by Linda Kage- 5 stars [arc review]

Kissing the Boss is the second book in the "Fairy Tale Quartet" by Linda Kage. The first was A Monster Among the Roses ( review here ), inspired by Beauty and the Beast. Kissing the boss was inspired by Cinderella and it delivered in every possible way! Here is the blurb (GoodReads): What’s the one thing you shouldn’t do when your boss is your ruthless evil widowed stepmother who hates your guts more than anyone?  Kiss the man she’s interested in. So what does Kaitlynn Judge find herself doing? Yep, she kisses the one man her stepmother currently wants, who also happens to be the CEO of the company where she works. Can we say doomed? After the death of her father, Kaitlynn's life has been stuck in a rut. But that begins to change after meeting a dashing stranger during the office Halloween party. Now she has to navigate vengeful stepmothers, meddling step siblings, and gorgeous guys in hot pursuit to reach her happily ever after. While making a detour from the fant

Guest Author Q&A with Linda Kage

Monster Among the Roses and Kissing the Boss Hi Linda! And Welcome to my Blog 😊 I am very excited to have you here! I just finished Monster Among the Roses and LOVED it ( review here ). The next book is bound to be epic! Tell us a little about you… Where are you from? And what got you into reading? Was it a hobby at first or did you always want to be a writer? Hey there!  I’m Linda.  I grew up in rural southeast Kansas, the eighth child of farmers who also operated a dairy business, milking cows. Most of my older siblings had grown up and either moved out or were gone so much, I mostly only remember trailing around my next older sister all the time.  Except she was an avid reader, you see, so I twiddled my thumbs and played with the cats at the barn many times while I waited for her to finish “just one more chapter.” Then I started school, and the girl I sat with on the bus loved to read too, so most days, I sat quietly by her while she buried her nose in a book, ab
