Q&A with Blue Saffire, author of Calling on Quinn (The Blackhart Brothers #1)

Hello Hello Sunnies :)  As most of you know by now my favorite thing at work is getting to know a little bit more about the Romance Authors we have come to love. Our in town book club read Calling on Quinn by Blue Saffire this past month and below is the Q&A we sent to Blue. Thank you Blue for joining us and allowing us to share this with the world!   - What got you into writing?  My mother was a paraprofessional in the New York City Department of education for almost twenty years. She was a huge believer in education. I could read and write by the age of two. Everything my brother and two cousins learned, they had to come  back home and teach me. It was my mother's model. Once I was able to write, I started writing little stories, then poems, then songs. I've been doing this all my life in some shape or form. However, it wasn't until after losing my mother that I wrote my first novel.  - When you are not writing what genre do you enjoy readin...

Q&A with Sasha Summers, author of Jace

Hello Sunnies! The lovely Sasha Summers has agreed to join us for a Q&A after my bookclub read her book last month.  Here it is: Q&A with Sasha Summers! -  When did you start writing? Was it a hobby at first or did you always wanted to be a writer? I've been writing since I was young - my first play was for Girl Scouts many, many--many--years ago. I didn't start taking it seriously until about 2012. After that, it was my everything.    - When you are not writing what genre do you enjoy reading? And do you have a ’go-to’ author? I read EVERYTHING, honestly. For romance, I love Julia Quinn and Julia London, Jodi Thomas, and Sophie Kinsella. If I hear chatter or a bunch of great reviews, I'll buy the book. I just finished Meg & Jo by Virginia Kantra and really enjoyed it!    - What was the inspiration behind Jace?   I'm married to a cowboy who often sings classic country while he's working, so I already had a soft spot for a singing cowbo...

Q&A with Marie Harte, author of The Kissing Game

The favorite part of my job? There are many. That being said, doing Q&A's with authors and hosting authors events are big perks. This past month my Romance Book Club read The Kissing Game by Marie Harte and I loved the book. Even more, loved the opportunity to get to know the author a little more. Here is our Q&A with the fabulous Marie Harte!  -  When did you start writing? Was it a hobby at first or did you always wanted to be a writer?   I used to write on 3x5 index cards and create stories when I was a kid. I’ve always loved stories and storytelling and dreamed of being a full-fledged novelist. I majored in English in college and started writing while in my early twenties, but on the side. (I was in the Marine Corps at the time.) It wasn’t until 2002 when I quit my job to write full-time. Then I became pregnant and continued to write, publishing in late 2004 with a small press publisher. - When you are not writing what genre do you enjoy reading? And do yo...

I’m delighted to be here today! I’m so happy you enjoyed THE LUCK OF THE BRIDE. When did you start writing? Was it a hobby at first or did you always wanted to be a writer? I’m an attorney by day, and law school makes you learn to write quickly. However, I never really thought about writing romance until about five years ago when I took a Cherry Adair plotting class at the 2013 Romantic Times Convention in Kansas City. Within two days, I had the rough out...

Guest Author Q&A with Kylie Scott

Dive Bar Series Hi Kylie! It is such a pleasure to have you here on my blog! I finished the Stage Dive series not long ago and fell in love with your writing. And the Dive Bar series is turning out just as amazing! Thank you very much! -      When did you start writing? Was it a hobby at first or did you always wanted to be a writer? I’ve always been fascinated with stories and carried around notebooks since I was little. About ten years ago I had the time on my hands to give writing a serious go. My first book was awful. So I went and took lessons, attended writing conferences, and worked with a mentor. Slowly, I got better. -          When you are not writing what genre do you enjoy reading? And do you have a ’go-to’ author? My re-reads are “Sweet Dreams” by Kristen Ashley, “The Darkest Part of the Forest” by Holly Black, and “The Stand” by Stephen King. Mostly, I read romance, but I try to mix it ...

Black Lily was a pleasant surprise and I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. -       When did you start writing? Was it a hobby at first or did you always wanted to be a writer? Thank you so much for having me today. So, I hate to sound cliché, but I always wanted to be a writer. I wrote tons of emo poetry in high school—bad, angsty poetry. Lol. But it led me to writing fiction and majoring/graduating with a degree in Creative Writing from LSU. After many years of teaching and raising kids, I ve...

Guest Author Q&A with Linda Kage

Monster Among the Roses and Kissing the Boss Hi Linda! And Welcome to my Blog 😊 I am very excited to have you here! I just finished Monster Among the Roses and LOVED it ( review here ). The next book is bound to be epic! Tell us a little about you… Where are you from? And what got you into reading? Was it a hobby at first or did you always want to be a writer? Hey there!  I’m Linda.  I grew up in rural southeast Kansas, the eighth child of farmers who also operated a dairy business, milking cows. Most of my older siblings had grown up and either moved out or were gone so much, I mostly only remember trailing around my next older sister all the time.  Except she was an avid reader, you see, so I twiddled my thumbs and played with the cats at the barn many times while I waited for her to finish “just one more chapter.” Then I started school, and the girl I sat with on the bus loved to read too, so most days, I sat quietly by her while she buried her nose...
