Always Practice Safe Hex (Stay a Spell #4) by Juliette Cross

Hello Hello friends! Who is ready for another Stay a Spell  book? Here is the blurb: Livvy Savoie is a people person. Not only does she have the magical gift of persuasion, but her natural charisma charms everyone she meets. She hasn’t met a person she didn’t like. Until her annoyingly brilliant competitor walks through the door. No matter how hard she denies it, loathing isn’t the only emotion she feels for him. Grim reaper Gareth Blackwater is rarely, if ever, moved beyond his broody, stoic state. But the witch he’s partnered with in the public relations contest is destroying his peace of mind. He’s convinced that the flesh-melting attraction he feels for her is merely her witchy magic at work. But forced proximity proves there is more than magic sparking between them. Livvy learns this enigmatic grim’s abilities are beyond any supernatural she has ever known. And when Livvy becomes the obsessive target of a dangerous warlock, Gareth proves just how powerful he truly is. Because ...

The Cursed King (Inferno Rising #4) by Abigail Owen

This series has been an absolutely delight and I am so glad I've read it. The Rogue King , the first book in the series is still very much my favorite. I discovered Abigail Owen through that book and have read a few of her other books since, this series -obviously-, and others. I highly recommend you all give this wonderful author a try. Blurb: He will burn. She will rise. Airk Azdajah, the rightful King of the White Clan, spent half a millennium being tortured by the false High King Pytheios. The only reason he’s alive is a curse— the man to kill Airk will be consumed in his own fire. Which is why Pytheios kept Airk alive, barely, unable to shift in his prison cage, driving the creature half of him into madness. Airk escaped, but he’ll never be truly free. What good is a king who can never let his feral dragon loose, never fly, and never lead his people? He’s better off dead. Angelika Amon is the last unmated phoenix. The problem? She has no powers. Zip. Zilch. Angelika hates bein...

Witches Get Stitches (Stay a Spell #3) by Juliette Cross [arc review]

Witches Get Stitches by Juliette Cross I don't think Juliette Cross has the power to disappoint me. And that sunnies, is a great thing. There is nothing better than going into a book knowing with absolute certainty that you will love it.  Book 3 in the Stay a Spell  series was just as charming, mesmerizing, romantic, and steamy as the previous books. Is it my favorite of the 3? Close, very close, but no. Mateo my man still tops the cake. And his appearances in this book just fermented that. I loved how many glimpses we got of him and the grims. Their books cannot come soon enough. I know you are all waiting for Jules' book. Well, I'm waiting for my grims, and I sure hope they have a darker edge to them. All that being said, if you are new to this series go ahead! This can easily be read as a stand alone. I would recommend you read them all, but I am obsessed with Juliette Cross... Violet was...interesting. During the first 40% of the book I wanted to bring her out of the pa...

A Touch of Darkness (Hades & Persephone #1) by Scarlett St. Clair

I knew very little going into this book except that it had my current favorite bad boy in it: Hades! Seriously though, I have a "hades tbr" at the moment, it's a thing. And if you know any good Hades based romances do tell me. Always and forever looking for more. Hades, the God of the Dead was phenomenal. I have ZERO complaints about his character. There was more to the underworld than known by other gods and humans, and the same is true about the man that runs the place. He is to the point and although not always up front and straight forward he is always honest and true. He has built a gambling empire but his bets are not always monetary and they are known for being impossible.  Persephone was very much still learning who she really was. Up until meeting Hades and for some time after she has no power of her own. Plants die at her touch and that is that. She is also known as the goddess of spring, but that is not because of who she is but rather because of who her mother...

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh

I started this series somewhat backwards.  Silver Silence   is the first book in a spin-off series for Psy- Changeling  and was the first book I've read. But, being a spin-off, it is also book 16 in the series! It was also my first book by Nalini Singh, who has since than become one of my all time favorite paranormal romance writers. I've been meaning to go and read her older books it is been a while, but you readers know how it goes: the TBR is never ending. It took 2 years but here we are. I own almost the whole series and I will eventually get through them. To start, this book very much reminded me of Silver Silence . A psy and a shifter. But as the story progressed it took a life of its own. My favorite thing about it is that Nalini somehow managed to create a whole new world without making the book unnecessarily long. Rather often the first book in a new paranormal/fantasy series is long in order to explain the new world created. I felt she did that nicely and timely...

The Warrior King (Inferno Rising #3) by Abigail Owen [arc review]

I absolutely adore this series. Any time anyone asks for a paranormal/dragon shifter recommendation this series comes to mind.  Books in the Series so far and reviews: -  The Rogue King -  The Blood King Blurb for The Warrior King : Meira Amon is the most reserved of the phoenixes, finding computers easier to deal with than people and their messy emotions. But she wants revenge against the Rotting King Pytheios for the murder of her parents just as much as her sisters. Offering herself as a queen for their ally, dragon shifter King Gorgon of the Black Clan, only makes sense. Just one problem… Samael Veles worked his lowborn ass off to become the fiercest warrior of the Black Clan. He has pledged his life to protect his king at all costs. Yet somehow, in the middle of war, he took one look at a woman in a reflection and gave up his heart. When that woman turns out to be the phoenix promised to mate his king and help bring peace to their kind, he has no choice but to accept...

The Fallen Angel Trilogy by Kim Loraine

Waking the Watcher Denying the Watcher Releasing the Watcher This serieswas a fun paranormal and erotica trilogy. Each book focuses on a different couple but the background story on the first two books gets resolved in book 3, and as such, the series should not be read out of order. The background story is Sariel’s, an angel who fell from heaven when he chose to stay on earth with the woman he fell in love with instead of being a ‘watcher’ for God. His job was to watch, not to interact and interfere. When he fell, so did hundreds of others hoping to find the same kind of love that he did. Some did, some are now under the influence of Lucifer. Sariel’s love died not long after he fell -during the flood- and he has spent thousands of years dormant with no body of his own inside the mind of others. On book one he wakes up. He believes that the vampire whose body he is inhabiting has found the reincarnation of his mate. But is she his mate, or is she the vampire’s mate and he ...

Bane's Choice (Vampire Motorcycle Club #1) by Alyssa Day

My reading year has definitely started well. Another great book to the list! This was my first read by Alyssa Day and it will not  be the last.  The blurb: Vampires are back for a reason! Meet the sexy, dark hero Bane in New York Times bestselling author Alyssa Day's smokin'-hot romance. Bane lost his humanity ages ago. Nothing is more important than protecting his Vampire Motorcycle Club from the death magic invading his territory. The most ancient of vampires, he seeks cold, unfeeling, bloody vengeance...until a frustratingly sexy human doctor is thrust into his path. She tempts Bane to distraction. And distraction is deadly in his world. Buttoned-up and meticulous Dr. Ryan St. Cloud never thought she’d find herself in the mix of a motorcycle club, let alone one full of terrifyingly badass vampires. Or how intrigued she is by their dark and enigmatic leader, who seems balanced on the knife’s edge of killing her...or claiming her. But Bane’s choice is harder than it seems, be...

The Blood King (Inferno Rising #2) by Abigail Owen, 5 Stars

Abigail Owen has definitely became one of my favorite paranormal writers. I am yet to read a story by her I do not love. The Blood King  was absolutely amazing. What is hard is to decide if I like this one or the first book,  The Rogue King , better. On that note, I would not recommend reading this one without having read the first book. It is doable, there is a nice little intro to refresh your memory and such, so you won't be lost. But you will likely feel like you are missing an important part of the story.  Blurb: Ruthless dragon king Ladon Ormarr must keep his throne at all costs. And now, with war on the horizon, he’ll need a miracle. Luckily, the fates have dropped Skylar Amon right into his lap. Except he may have met his match. The feisty Amon sister has no fear — of him or any other dragon shifter — is brash, doesn’t stick to protocols, and regularly offends his warriors and advisers. Skylar also has no intention of sticking around. She doesn't belie...

Don't Hex and Drive (Stay a Spell #2) by Juliette Cross [arc review]

Sometimes you only realize you've been missing something when a favorite author of yours comes up with something new. I did not know I liked charming Bollywood actors, now I know I do. Thanks for that Juliette Cross! I think.... hehe (as if I needed another obsession)

Crazy Cupid Love (Let's Get Mythical #1) by Amanda Heger

A fun, whimsical, and charming story with a touch of Greek mythology. What is not to love?

Alpha Night (Psy-Changeling Trinity #4) by Nalini Singh

Nalini Singh is a force to be reckoned with in the paranormal world. Her series Psy-Changeling Trinity and its original series Psy-Changeling are fabulous works of art. She is no shadow of doubt a master of her craft.

Shift Out of Luck (Brimstone Inc. #2) by Abigail Owen

Abigail Owen was a new author to me last year. I was given a copy of The Rogue King   and fell in love. So much so I added her book to my local book club list (Q&A with Abigail here ). So of-course, when I saw this beauty I just had to read it. It was paranormal romance heaven! What pnr lover does not enjoy a good shifter story?

Crave by Tracy Wolff [arc review]

Crave  was everything you would expect from an young adult paranormal romance with vampires. Remember years ago when that was popular? I guess Renee Ahidieh with  Beautiful  and now Tracy Wolff with Crave are trying to bring it back. I don't know about you, but I am all in for it!

How to cure a Book Slump & Review for Into the Dreaming (Highlander #8) by Karen Marie Moning

How to get over a Book Slump? Those who read a lot get asked that question rather often. I have 2 tricks: the first is to pick up a book by a favorite author that is of a different genre to the one you previously read (or at least a different sub-genre). I find it is best if it is something very different than the book that put you on a book slump to start.  The second is to always have a long series you love going on the background. I am currently reading 3 paranormal series. But here is the thing, I do not read as the new books come out. I read only when I need a trusted book to get me out of a slump. This series is a little old now and the other two are still ongoing ( Black Dagger Brotherhood and Bewitched and Bewildered).  All that brings us to Into the Dreaming , book 8 and last in this series .  I have not read The Highlander  series in order though, I still have 2 to go- eventually!  I believe this book is 14 years old now. Time flies hey? Karen...

Q&A with Abigail Owen, author of The Rogue King (Inferno Rising Series)

The Rogue King, Abigail Owen It has been a very busy month here and not much reading was done. But the Romance Book Club I run for the store still going strong and the fabulous Abigail Owen has agreed to let me share our Book Club questions with the world! Have fun getting to know this fabulous writer, we sure did! :)

Wolf Gone Wild (Stay A Spell #1) by Juliette Cross [arc review]

Wolf Gone Wild, Juliette Cross Will I ever not like a Juliette Cross book? No, no I won't!  Wolf Gone Wild was the perfect mixture of shifter glory, humor and sexiness.  Yes, 'shifter glory' is a thing. Go with it!

Coldest Fire (Dominion #3) by Juliette Cross [arc review]

And Juliette does it again!  This author is an a roll. If paranormal is your jam, as it is mine, read read read! "It’s just that…sometimes…the past can leave scars that dig too deep. That can never be erased. And so, we have to be content with a half-life once we’ve flown our course and made it through to the other side without burning.” (uncorrected arc quote)

Frost and Flame (Gods of War #2) by Gena Showalter [arc review]

Another intense Paranormal romance by the fabulous Gena Showalter! From Gena Showalter, the  New York Times   bestselling author of the Lords of the Underworld saga, comes  Frost and Flame   , the second book in the scorching paranormal romance series Gods of War.
