Wicked Beauty (Dark Olympus #3) by Katee Robert [arc review]

*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus that's as sinful as it is sweet.*   And that right there is 100% accurate!  Wicked Beauty  is the third book in the series: - Neon Gods  (Dark Olympus #1) - Electric Idol  (Dark Olympus #2) -Wicked Beauty (dark Olympus #3) I've been a big fan of Katee Robert for a few years now, but I have to be honest and say that nothing has come even close to the O'Malley's for me. Not until now that is :) I wish I could direct you to reviews on that amazing series, but I didn't start posting romance reviews until 2017 and my first Katee review went live in 2018. You will just have to trust me on this, it is an amazing series and if you are looking for something to read while waiting for the next release in the Dark Olympus series, that is a great choice. Now back to Wicked Beauty!  The 'Hunger Games' vibe was strong. And I'm not one little bit upset about it. I love a spicy romance and a ...

Top 10 of 2021!

It is hard to believe we are saying goodbye to 2021 already. Insane! My Top 10 list for this past year consists of 7 romances (unsurprisingly since that is what I read most), 2 young adults, and 1 fiction (historical fiction to be exact). You will find my Top 10 below, but I would also love to see yours. Send me a message on Instagram  with the link to your list so I can have a look (and I will happily share on my Instagram stories too)!  They are in no particular order and the ones with title only are clickable, that will send you to the review. Have fun and happy reading!  I hope you find something to love in this list and that you end up loving it as much as I did.  1 - Raphael by Tillie Cole  (Dark Romance) 2 - Priest by Sierra Simone  (Taboo Romance) 3 - The Vixen and the Vet by Kat Regnery (Modern Fairytale Retelling Romance) Great modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Savanah was a struggling journalist and Asher a wounded veteran living in hidi...

Vespertine (Vespertine #1) by Margaret Rogerson [arc review]

Two Young Adult reviews in a row? That has not happened in a very very long time. I obviously still read them, but just not as often anymore. Margaret Rogerson is one of those authors I will drop everything to go and read her next title. I absolutely loved her two other books: An Enchantment of Ravens  and Sorcery of Thorns ,  so as you can imagine I was very excited about this one.  Blurb: The dead of Loraille do not rest. Artemisia is training to be a Gray Sister, a nun who cleanses the bodies of the deceased so that their souls can pass on; otherwise, they will rise as spirits with a ravenous hunger for the living. She would rather deal with the dead than the living, who trade whispers about her scarred hands and troubled past. When her convent is attacked by possessed soldiers, Artemisia defends it by awakening an ancient spirit bound to a saint’s relic. It is a revenant, a malevolent being that threatens to possess her the moment she drops her guard. Wielding its ext...

Raphael and Jegudiel by Tillie Cole

Let's start off by saying that both these books need to come with heavy trigger warnings. If you have problems with just about anything that can be seen as 'wrong' or 'off putting', and I do mean anything  walk away. These books are not for you. Tillie Cole does not shy away from the dark and disturbing. Specially in the first book. She was a new author to me with Raphael  and I absolutely loved the book. I have already purchased an older title by her. I have been very much into dark romance lately and to find one that is so dark it can be uncomfortable to read, intense, creative, and yet also heartwarming and touching is not easy. Raphael has more darkness and intensity than Jegudiel, not the character, but the book as a whole. Overall I liked Raphael a smidge more, but that is not to say Diel's book wasn't great, it was. This series is about brothers by pain and hate. These man have been through hell and back and there is no way you are not going to feel f...

My 10 favorite Reads in 2020

I was on a book funk many times this year and as I look back at the books I've read it somewhat makes sense. Although I read some amazing books I did a disservice to myself by not reading as many books from my favorite subgenres as I should have and consequently there were a lot of 'middle of the road' reads. Books that many of you would love but that just aren't my thing, like rom-coms -I like them but I rarely love them.  And so, for the first time ever, I will actually have a Top 10 list. If you guys remember, usually I pick 2 to 3 favorites for every month of the year, this time I just could not do that. Wasn't 2020 just great?  Negativity aside, I read some OUTSTANDING books this last 12 months that I think you should all give a try. And -surprise surprise- they are not all romance at all. Only 4 romance books made my list! How weird is that? 99% of what I read is romance...  Here we go (in order read through the year, they are all 5+ stars): CLICK ON THE TITLE...

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Victoria Schwab is an acclaimed fantasy writer for a reason, she writes gold! Or the closes thing you can get to it in literature form :) 5 Glorious Stars

Vows in Name Only (Billionaires of Boston #1) by Naima Simone

Can Naima Simone ever do wrong? If you actually have to ask or wonder what the answer is than you either have not read anything by her before or you just haven't read enough. The answer is obvious and easy: Hell to the No ! I was introduced to the Queen of Smut (aka- @naimasimoneauthor ) in 2018 with  Sin and Ink   and it has been a wonderful ride ever since. I have a favorite of-course: Passion and Ink , but ALL her books are amazing. There is the trademark smut (she does not claim this as a trademark, I do for her, and love it!), there is passion, there is angst, there is swoon worthy romance, and the characters, main and secondary, are all impossible not to love. And that is not a comment just on Vows in Name Only , or only the books mentioned above, but on all her books.

Passion and Ink (Sweetest Taboo #2) by Naima Simone

I loved Sin and Ink - the first book in the  Sweetest Taboo  series - and was really looking forward to this one. I am happy to say it was even better than the first book! I am not one to get emotional reading, I got emotional... This story was full of passion and heart.

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle [arc review]

In Five Years, Rebecca Serle This book was everything I didn't know I needed. Amazing does not begin to describe it. We are still in January and I can already tell you this will likely be in my favorites list for 2020. It is easily in par with my favorite from last year!

Best Romance Reads of 2019

The Girl He Used to Know Can you believe is that time of the year again? For the last few years I have been unable to find one favorite book for the year and gave you all one or two choices a month. I will do that this year again, however, there was ONE book (out of 145) that stood out from all the others this year for me. One with a story I could not forget and that I even managed to get non-romance readers to give a try!  *for you with sensitivities, there is a picture of a butt somewhere in this post.... just saying...

Well Met (Well Met #1) by Jen DeLuca [arc review]

Well Met by JenDeluca All's  faire  in love and war There has been a lot of romantic comedies coming out this year and to find one that stands out from the rest is no easy task. Well Met  was a delight to read and I have no doubt this debut author has a long career ahead of her. It did not just stood out, it exceeded all expectations!

The Rogue King (Inferno Rising #1) by Abigail Owen

YES!!! Another amazing paranormal romance author to add to the list. The Rogue King  was phenomenal in every way and I cannot recommend it enough.

Some Like It Scandalous (The Gilded Age Girls Club #2) by Maya Rodale [arc review- audio book]

A historical romance for the feminist you didn't know you had in you! Bennett Mafia by Tijan [arc review]

WOW! This was sooooooooo good The wait is finally over. Tijan has finally written another Mafia Romance: the sub-genre that made me fall in love with her books in the first place. It was nothing like the Carter Reed books or Cole but it was just as amazing.  I'm thrilled. I'm ecstatic. I'm happy. I'm satisfied. PlEaSe WrItE more Mafia Romance :)

Drifter (Commander in Briefs #3) by Kristy Marie [arc review]

This was my first read by Kristy Marie and it will not be the last. I am already looking into the other books in the series. Drifter  was funny, romantic, entertaining, touching... it had all the things needed to make a fabulous contemporary romance. I won't be surprise if this book makes into my favorite list in the end of the year. And since we are still in January, I would say that says a lot about the book hey?!

2018 Favorites

I can't believe another year is gone. Time flies... 2018 has been an amazing reading year. I surpassed my reading goal and discovered tons of amazing new authors. Just like last year I can't choose a favorite book for the year, not even five... so once again I will share one to three favorite books per month (as I've read). It will be a mix of romance books and young adult and all titles will take you to the book's review. Have fun browsing!  Ready?

Highlander Ever After (The MacGregors: Highland Heirs #8) by Paula Quinn [arc review]

I don't often read historical romances, but I am most definitely reading the other 7 books in this series now! This was phenomenal-  Enchanting from beginning to end ! It will definitely go on the list of favorites for the year (working on that post at the moment). I started reading this beauty while my kiddos where taking a nap and I proceeded to ignore them for the rest of the day 🤣 I just needed to know the rest! (on my defense I work from home and my kids usually get a lot of my attention)

Seducing Cinderella (Fighting for Love #1) by Gina L. Maxwell

Today we are stepping back in time a little and reviewing an older book; Seducing Cinderella by Gina Maxwell was published back in 2012. I only discovered this amazing author at the beginning of this year (her book  Merciless  was published this past May and I somehow got it). That means I am still discovering her stuff. Seducing Cinderella was ADORABLE! I already ordered the next books in the series on amazon. Gimme Gimme Gimme!

All My Life by Prescott Lane [arc review]

I am speechless!  Everything about this book was pure perfection. It was sweet, charming, had just enough angst, it was touching... There is not one single thing about it that I did not love. Not one.  This was my first book by Prescott Lane, and needless to say, it will not be the last!
